CINEMA AND DVD RELEASES

Here you get to add your comments on films and dvd's you have seen so we have an excuse to highlight alternative DVD releases with an art and politics bent. For instance the long running Poetry Picnic in Sydney, run by the Alternative Arts Festival - is due to start releasing some of its readings in large local garden parks , on DVD before long . Then there are videos of half hour plays from the same Festival (including rehearsals and animations).

I am going to see the latest James Bond cinema film "casino royale" - which I read the book about some years ago. It is supposed to be more true to the original Ian Fleming creation than most films apart from the Sean Connery versions. I'll tell you what I think soon.

PLAYWRITE-POET TATTOO INSPIRED COVER

"RICHARD BULL" has created a new cover for
his previously published book of poetry Heart-
songs.
We hope to induce him to share one or
two of them with us.

TUBE particularly likes to include artwork with
its articles, reviews and poems. Richard is also
a playwrite with fabulous short plays and
musicals performed for over a decade now -
starting with Holmes Romance, at the first
short theatre Festival at Bondi Pavillion.

He slightly reworked this play about Sherlock Holmes finding love - at the more recent
performance in 2003 at the Alternative Arts
Festival. Another play at this Festival in the
inner city of Sydney - was Dr Death.

His short musicals at the Festival were AIDS;The Musical, and a preview of a film he is making
called the Reality Brain show - featuring his original songs. As usual, the theme is controversal - namely about how an Aussie tried to stop the Bali and 9/11 attacks - plus some neat songs. He has aready made a strange by humorous animation sequence for the opening of the musical film.

Most of the production as acted out at the 2004 Festival - when it was also videod and audio recorded. In fact all the plays have been videod in their Festival productions and an acting group project has been formed and supported by a local Council. He hopes to make all of his plays into digital videos that can viewed on DVD's he makes.

POETRY BLOG MAN PLANS NEW WORK

Yes, David Marsh isn't just satidfied to have his poetry and tatts written across the heavens (cyberspace wise) but is now hoping to put out a new work. Pretty soon we will review his present poetry blog called a street spirituality - which of course you might be able to find yourself. Meanwhile we are working on the artwork of another poetry book by another poet. It is called Heartsong.

TUBE MAGAZINE IS BACK!

TUBE appeared some time ago in several issues - but it was too expensive to do on paper to the standard that can now be done on the web. Part of what it will do is to review blogs, websites and paper publications of poets, writers and visual artists. Maybe some previous articles of the previous Tube magazine series can also be reproduced.
